Over the last 30 years or so, Prof Hui has served the community in many ways. For example, he was a member of the Long-Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee and the Real Estate Services Training Board of the Vocational Training Council. He was a member of the Building Appeal Tribunal, the Town Planning Board and its Rural and New Town Planning Committee, the Expert Panel (of Planning Department) for Hung Shui Kiu New Development Area, and the Sustainability Advisory Committee of the LINK REIT. He was also a non-Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Authority, Chairman of the Property and Facility Management Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Advisory Vice Chairman of China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong and International), Member of EAA’s Board, Chairman of EAA’s Practice and Examination Committee and Licensing Committee and a member of the Supervisory Board of the HK Housing Society and Member of Panel of Advisors, Land Sharing Pilot Scheme, Development Bureau, and Vice Chairman of the Property Management Services Authority.
