Sr WAN Wai-ming, Tony

President of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors

Sr WAN Wai Ming, Tony is the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and a Registered Professional Surveyor (General Practice). He is also a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and Agents, with over three decades of experience in general practice surveying industry, specialising in real estate development, asset management, sales and leasing, property valuation and related professional services.

Sr Wan has long been actively involved in the affairs of the Institute and various voluntary services related to the surveying profession. He served as Senior Vice-President of the HKIS in 2025, Vice-President from 2022 to 2024, and Honorary Secretary from 2021 to 2022, and has chaired a number of committees, task forces and working groups, making significant contributions to the governance and professional development of the Institute. He has also served multiple terms as a Council Member of the HKIS General Council and the General Practice Division, with extensive experience and a solid track record within the profession.

Beyond his service to the Institute, Sr Wan is also actively engaged in public and community services. He is currently a Member of the Harbourfront Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Honorary Advisor of the Po Leung Kuk Property and Works Committee, Lead Mentor of the Security Bureau’s Project Lighthouse, and Vice-President of the Care of Rehabilitated Offenders Association, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the profession and serving the community. He also served as a Member of the Vocational Training Council Real Estate Services Training Board and Convener of the Working Party on Vocational and Professional Education and Training, and had been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Legal Advice for Unrepresented Litigants, the Land Sub-Committee of the Land Development Advisory Committee and the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings), through which he had provided professional advice to the Government and the industry on professional development and training, building safety and various public policies.
